Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle in an exclusive interview with Australia’s “60 Minutes” opened up about the interaction between the Royal pair and Oprah. Mr. Markle, 76, expressed his deep sadness and worries about the issues occurring between the Royal family of Britain. He said that he will “never give up hope” of a reconciliation.
Thomas Markle further mentioned, “I’m not a tearful type.” He continued and said, “But I keep everything in here. I don’t really let it out like that, but I’m certainly hurt by a lot of it … I’ve said I’m sorry about the initial problem, if I’ve said anything today that offended anyone I’m sorry too.”
Meghan’s father also claimed that Oprah has took the advantage of the Duke of Susses, in order to build her own network. He stated, “I have things to say. Oprah Winfrey, for one, I think is playing Harry and Meghan. I think she is using them to build her network and build her new shows and I think she’s taken advantage of a very weakened man and has got him to say things that you just shouldn’t be saying on television.”
However, Oprah is already owning a network named, ‘OWN.’ The American host recently launched her brand on Discovery. Although, the interview was immense gained huge attention and popularity. Mr. Markle further said, “She [Oprah] will disagree of course, and she may even sue me. I don’t care. But, the bottom line is she is working with Harry.”
He also clarified that he got to know about the birth of his granddaughter Lilibet, through the public statement of the Royal pair. Thus, this made Thomas Markle feel more disappointed and not surprising. Also, in the end, he said, “I see them both ghosting their families completely and now they are alone in a huge house where they can probably accommodate 20 people in but it’s just the 4 of them. I don’t think they are going to have relatives over for a barbeque next week or next month.”
