flydubai ups services to Italy

flydubai will increase its Italian network to three destinations this summer. The carrier will return to Catania, Sicily, and also launch a new service to Pisa, one of Italy’s most iconic travel destinations.

Flights to Pisa International Airport (PSA) and Catania International Airport (CTA) will commence on June 24th. The airline will operate three flights a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said,

“We look forward to the launch of flights to our third point in Italy this summer. Pisa will be a popular destination for travelers from the UAE and the GCC to discover the beauty of the Tuscany region.”

All flights will be based out of Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB). The airline currently flies to Naples and previously flew to Catania before suspending its service.

Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said,

“flydubai’s new three-times-weekly service to Pisa, as well as our operations to Catania and Naples, offers passengers from the UAE and the region more options for travel to Europe this summer. Our passengers from Italy will be able to enjoy convenient and direct flights to Dubai throughout the year.”

Passengers will need to be up-to-date with regulations from the IATA Travel Centre and the IATA destination tracker for their whole journey and follow the guidance issued by the authorities and the airline.

Served by the Boeing 737 MAX

flydubai will operate its flights to Italy using the Boeing 737 MAX. The cabin offers business class fares with lie-flat seats and a range of inflight entertainment options, including a full HD, 11.6-inch screen.

flydubai is set to receive 20 Boeing 737 MAX planes this year, which will see the size of its MAX fleet almost double within one year.

Codesharing with Emirates

flydubai will codeshare with Dubai national carrier Emirates on its Italy routes, offering access to countless connections through Dubai’s international aviation hub.

Obaidalla added,

“We have seen healthy growth in passenger numbers as more countries ease travel restrictions and demand for travel returns to pre-pandemic levels. We look forward to an exceptional summer as we continue to add more destinations to our network and increase the frequency of flights on some of our existing routes.”

The carrier has also announced that it will be operating select flights out of Dubai World Central due to the planned 45-day closure of the northern runway at DXB.
